There are some boats that have been with us for so long and are so popular that they have attained classic status. This Grand Banks is just such a boat. She is a semi displacement hull with a long keel, hard chines and a deep forefoot that provides stability that won this boat a reputation for seaworthiness unmatched in her class. Her twin stateroom layout is all finished with hand crafted teak woodwork done to the very highest standards. The interior still looks outstanding in this great trawler. The salon has lounges on both sides and a great folding leaf cocktail/dinette table. There are great views from the salon in virtually every direction, and copious amounts of light. The furniture is golden Burmese Teak, and is accented with neutral fabrics and a soft cabin liner. Like a favorite pair of shoes, she is comfortable. Both staterooms are accessed down steps from the salon fore and aft. Separate A/C & Heat units service the forward stateroom and salon, and the aft stateroom, keeping you season comfortable. There is a grog (booze, hooch, liquor for the seaman) cabinet next to the starboard side. All of her stateroom windows have their own canvas covers. The forward stateroom is large, comfortable, and is loaded with storage. Her head is large enough to really be used by a full sized guy. She has a large forward hatch/skylight and a hanging locker (closet to most folks). Her large V-Berth is perfect. The aft Stateroom, also a few steps down, has two wide bunks that will sleep two each if they are good friends, and a second size friendly head and shower, and a few steps lead to the cigar deck (remember it).
She enjoys dual helms, with a good electronics complement including Garmin GPS/Chartplotters, VHF radios, and even has a cell phone range extender for you cell phone junkies. The flybridge is special and has comfortable cushions, and a complete canvas cockpit cover, and a large bimini top. She enjoys a custom built table and a huge ice chest to enhance entertaining on the flybridge. This flybridge would be this Captains favorite command site.
Topside the raised bulwarks (boat sides matey) provide security to the weather deck (walkaround, catwalk, passage way). The salon has lounges on both sides and a great folding leaf cocktail/dinette table. There are great views from the salon in virtually every direction, and copious amounts of light. The furniture is golden Burmese Teak, and is accented with neutral fabrics and a soft cabin liner.
There is a 9 Avon dingy with a 9 hp. Evinrude outboard motor carried on her own davits on the aft cabin top. She features a functional mast and boom, to lift and lower the dingy (easy two seaman job). Helm to catwalk access is super with doors on both sides. There is direct cockpit access from the aft stateroom, and a spacious flybridge. There is a great aft deck area designed for watching sunsets and sipping wine. My 1st mate describes it as the cigar deck!
She is powered by a single Lehman 135 hp. diesel that has 2000 hours on her, and is protected by dual Racor fuel filters. She has enjoyed constant factory attention and will run great for another 2000 hours. Her 8kw Onan generator will purr out enough power to run everything at once. She has a recent new bow thruster that makes dock handling a breeze, and had new windshield installed not long ago. In 2008 her owner had her pulled and had her bottom professionally peeled and redone with 14 coats of Interlux Interprotect 2000E applied. While on the hill, he had the windows all professionally tinted.
Here is what I know. Indulgence has provided her owners with joy and memories for years. Their age has slowed them down now to where they are ready to say good-bye to her. She has had the best of care, and needs only some varnish to be stellar again. She is lonely and ready to make a new owner priceless memories of great days of family fun. She is in super shape and ready to cruise so make me an offer, and have your dream.
